SHUSWAP NORTH OKANAGAN RAIL TRAIL

The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail has been a big hit with locals and tourists alike! September is a great time to take your bike out on the trail to admire the beautiful views and see some local wildlife. The Ferry will be running all through September to make the trip to the rail trail as easy as possible.

Sicamous' new free pedestrian ferry is transporting passengers back and forth from 9am - 5:30pm until September 30th. It travels through the Sicamous Narrows with pickup/drop off points at the Martin Street Public Boat Launch, the Sicamous Beach Park and the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail.

ANNUAL SICAMOUS FUNGI FESTIVAL

20th Annual Sicamous Fungi Festival September 19-21
 
The Sicamous Fungi Festival happens every year mid-September. Fungi Experts lead long and short expeditions to find and identify different mushrooms. There is also music, mushroom-themed foods, presentations and panel discussions! Learn more and get tickets here:
 

SICAMOUS HARVEST FESTIVAL

The Sicamous Harvest Festival is held in September at the Hub (442 Finlayson Street).

OWLHEAD MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK

BC BIRD TRAIL - SHUSWAP OUTPOST

 

"Fall in the Shuswap offers a great opportunity to experience bird migration. Scan the skies for the elegant Sandhill Cranes in their V-shaped formations. Keep an eye on the waterways to spot Hooded Mergansers and Common Goldeneyes. Listen for the calls of White-crowned Sparrows in the fields. SALMON RUN

 

Each year hundreds of salmon spawn and travel through lakes and rivers surrounding Sicamous! There are many areas to see salmon close by including Eagle River, Yard Creek, Crazy Creek, Adams River and many more in the Shuswap region.

ATV SEASON

 

Sicamous is home to a growing number of hiking, biking and ATV Trails, including the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail and Owlhead Mountain Bike Park.

There are many local food producers in the Sicamous and Shuswap Areas! You can make a whole day out of driving around to the different farm stands.
