hockey

Sicamous is an active hockey community with a passionate Minor Hockey Association and is home to the Sicamous Eagles Junior ‘B’ Hockey Club. We are proud that 15 local players have moved on to play professionally.

For example, Shea Weber plays defense for the NHL and is alternate captain of the Montreal Canadiens. He is an NHL All-Star and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. Cody Franson plays defense for the Buffalo Sabres. Both of these phenomenal players come back to Sicamous every August to run the Sicamous Hockey Camp.

Sicamous grows great hockey players.

Other players who started their professional careers in Sicamous include Kris Beech, Adrian Viedeman, Andrew Kozek, Kris Hogg, Dale Purinton, Cain Franson,  John Craighead, Ron Flockhart, Rob Flockhart, Colin Fraser, Adam Breitkreuz, Stewart Coyle and Ross Breitkreuz.

Visit the Sicamous & District Recreation Centre for information on local hockey programs.
